All interns are trained in this technique on simulators. However, the quality of their movements, positioning and posture when using laparotrainers <strong>cannot currently be reliably assessed due to a lack of dedicated teaching tools<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is in this context, and with a view to optimising learners&#8217; progress <strong>by offering them personalised training programmes<\/strong>, that the ACTING project fits in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latter proposes to use artificial intelligence tools to recognise human actions in order to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Detect learners&#8217; movements and postures <\/strong>in a laparoscopic procedure training situation using the laparotrainer (laparoscopic surgery training device);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Evaluate the actions and postures<\/strong> that lead to good performance (and those that lead to poor performance) in relation to commonly recognised and adopted performance standards in the health community;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Offer personalised recommendations <\/strong>to learners to optimise their progress by providing individualised corrective measures.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"605\" height=\"237\" src=\"https:\/\/lineact.cesi.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Image1-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-204068\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lineact.cesi.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Image1-1.png 605w, https:\/\/lineact.cesi.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Image1-1-360x141.png 360w, https:\/\/lineact.cesi.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Image1-1-500x196.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure 1: ACTING dataset acquisition protocol.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Achievements as of 11 February 2026:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the launch of the project, various tasks have been carried out, in particular to define the data acquisition protocol and bring it into line with the standardised assessment grids for young doctors in laparoscopy. As such, the first acquisitions were made in the presence of an expert surgeon and a novice participant. The objective was to collect data from two distinct profiles in order to establish benchmarks for the postures observed.
