It is fully aligned with a national initiative focused on educational innovation and enhancing career readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal is clear: to offer, throughout France, educational programs that truly lay the groundwork for student success and meet the emerging needs of professional sectors, including in medium-sized cities where business expectations are particularly high. This ambition is accompanied by a commitment to making higher education more accessible to new groups, particularly students with technical and vocational high school diplomas, as well as those seeking a career change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the HESAM 2030 strategy, the two program formats developed\u2014one-year post-secondary programs and bachelor\u2019s degrees\u2014share several common pillars: strong individualized support, project-based learning, and intentionally small class sizes to ensure optimal educational quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At CESI, this program:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Has been an indispensable catalyst for the development and accreditation of Bachelor of Science and Engineering (BSI) programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Has served as a key driver for the development and accreditation of our degree programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Has enabled:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the submission and structuring of the Bachelor of International Specialization (BSI) programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the deployment of new, still-developing career guidance systems and the opening of pathways to new professions, particularly those in high demand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CESI to welcome a new student population from diverse backgrounds (ranging from vocational to scientific high school diplomas), with varied expectations and needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the implementation of programs to prepare students for international mobility and entry into the workforce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>laying the groundwork for a success observatory, which is intended to be gradually rolled out across all bachelor\u2019s programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>adopting an individualized approach through the development of content dedicated to supporting personal development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this program, a CESI thesis (2026) will examine how the \u201cpower to succeed\u201d is developed in higher education by studying how students engage with Personal Learning Environments (PLEs). This research takes place in a context where student success is a major challenge for higher education institutions. Given the variety of systems available, the adoption of these new spaces remains uneven. The research therefore aims to understand under what conditions these resources truly support success. This first requires understanding student success in terms of performance (grades, dropouts, repeating a year, graduation, academic progress, employment, etc.) and in terms of development (health, engagement, transfer, autonomy, agency, etc.). Drawing on the capabilities framework, the thesis seeks to identify the levers for strengthening the capacity to learn, navigate, and succeed.
