Optimizing the flow of connected distribution logistics
Conférence : Communications avec actes dans un congrès international
Distribution and transport are considered to be key factors determining the quality
of service and logistics costs, as they provide the connection between the different levels of the
Supply Chain (SC). This study proposes a guideline to help industrial manufacturing companies
manage their logistics distribution systems in an efficient and optimized way. The aim of the
paper is to present a new approach to modeling and optimizing the connected distribution logistics process and flow in order to clarify its understanding and optimize its performance. This
modeling of the downstream SC is based on a SC operations reference model (SCOR). We will
be looking at the modeling and optimization of SC distribution logistics flows, followed by the
integration of 4.0 technologies. This combination refers to efficient management of the movement
of products and information throughout the distribution chain, based on advanced communication and connectivity technologies. Thanks to the technologies made available by Industry 4.0, it
has become possible to optimize distribution in real time while proactively anticipating potential
disruptions that may occur in the environment.
