With rapid technological development, population growth and urbanization, nations and governments are forced to face the increasingly large quantities of urban waste generation. Meanwhile, recycling and utilization of solid waste to regenerate energy, saving natural resources and reducing air and waster pollution have become big concerns to the whole world. This paper describes a decision making tool based on a multiagent simulation model of biodegradable waste management in Normandy region. Several agents are developed to present collection, transportation and treatment processes. Based on data collected from local companies, the model can give useful statistical information about system performances, like time consuming or transportation cost, and also provide routing, scheduling and pricing strategies for the future management.
