Potatoes Supply Chain Challenges and Opportunities in Algeria : A literature Review
Conférence : Communications avec actes dans un congrès international
The Agri-Food Supply Chain (AFSC) has become a focal point of attention in recent times due to the intersection of technology and integrated Supply Chain (SC) performance.
Current research endeavors aim to minimize waste, maximize
yield, and enhance planning while ensuring chain traceability
and maintaining product price equilibrium. This paper offers
a comprehensive summary of the latest and most prominent
in the AFSC optimization studies that address the emerging
challenges in the potatoes SC and the role of technological
advancements. The research is categorized based on the planning
horizon, followed by an exploration of cutting-edge decision support technologies relevant to the potato SC. Over the past
decade, technological advancements and data analysis have
provided significant advantages in developing and implementing integrated AFSC strategies. The paper analyzes various research contributions to propose future design and planning solutions tailored to the Algerian potato AFSC. Furthermore, it includes references to optimization models developed in Algeria and recent reports pertaining to this sector, with a focus on policy actions and motivations. Finally, the study delves into a thorough analysis of how the potato AFSC can be developed, considering the constraints posed by the existing market and structure. By amalgamating research findings and insights, this paper aims to guide the development of a more efficient and sustainable potato AFSC in Algeria.
