Integrated Circuits (ICs) and electronic devices become part of human daily life
(mobile, home, car, etc) and for the safety of the information transported to and from this devices, some specifics security measures are proposed. Some ICs are a source of high randomness
due to the manufacturing variation of integrated Circuits (ICs) and exploited as physically
unclonable functions (PUFs), called Silicon PUFs (SPUFs). Many propositions have shown
that SPUFs could guarantee the three pillars of security; confidentiality, authenticity and
privacy of the information used by these devices. However, to extract strong cryptographic
keys from them, error correction and hashing code techniques should be considered. Unfortunately, generating several time the same response for the same input is not possible due to
many factors especially the environment variation such as noise, temperature, supply voltage,
and aging of an IC. To overcome this issue and recover the original response from the noisy
one, a secure sketch can be used. In this paper, we propose a low-cost authentication protocol
based on SPUFs by using Arbiter PUF that is classified as a strong PUF.
