Modelling the Integrated Production Scheduling and Vehicle Routing Problem

In this paper, we study an integrated production scheduling and vehicle routing problem. On the production side, a set of jobs has to be scheduled on identical parallel machines considering release dates and due dates. On the deliv-ery side, orders must be delivered to customers using several vehicles with lim-ited capacity. The objective is to minimize delays and the total traveled distance. We propose a mathematical model to solve the integrated decision problem. An example is used to illustrate the proposed model and an experimental study is conducted.
