Laboratory presentation

CESI LINEACT (UR 7527), the Laboratory for Digital Innovation for Businesses and Apprenticeships for Territorial Competitiveness, anticipates and supports technological changes in industries and construction sectors. CESI’s historical proximity to businesses is a key aspect of its applied research activities, fostering partnerships with enterprises.

Research is structured into two interdisciplinary teams:

  • Learning and Innovating: Focused on cognitive, social, management, and innovation sciences, this team investigates the impact of technical environments on learning, creativity, and innovation processes.

  • Engineering and Digital Tools: Focused on digital and engineering sciences, it addresses the modeling, simulation, optimization, and management of complex systems and human-system interactions.

Research applies to domains such as Industry of the Future and Smart Cities, supported by platforms in Rouen and Nanterre.

Internship topic

This internship is part of the Mon trajet vert energy-saving program, which aims to improve student mobility by implementing environmentally friendly initiatives while reducing social inequalities. The program’s ultimate objective is to promote sustainable student mobility.

The internship seeks to empirically study the impact of attentional modulation devices on collective decision-making processes in an innovation context applied to sustainable mobility. The goal is to test, under real conditions, whether focusing and relaxation techniques improve team creativity and collective decision-making.

Internship Summary

This internship is part of the energy-saving program Mon trajet vert (“My Green Commute”), which aims to promote sustainable and equitable mobility within higher education and research institutions.

The objective of the internship is to analyze the effects of an attentional modulation device on collective creativity and the quality of decisions made by teams facing situations of uncertain innovation. The device is used as a cognitive and emotional facilitation tool, likely to influence cooperation dynamics, communication, and stress regulation during collective decision-making tasks.

Based on a simulated experimental approach, the intern will participate in the design, implementation, and analysis of collective decision-making workshops integrated into an educational innovation project. The internship adopts a management sciences perspective, combining insights from innovation management, organizational behavior, and strategic decision-making in uncertain contexts.
