Integrating lean and green optimisation into decisionmaking frameworks in construction logistics: a systematic literature review

Article : Articles dans des revues internationales ou nationales avec comité de lecture

Logistics plays a decisive role in the performance of construction projects, owing to its central position within
supply chains and the complexity of the trade-offs it involves. These decisions involve a wide range of stakeholders
and require the reconciliation of operational, environmental and organisational constraints that are
often interdependent. Against this backdrop, this study presents a systematic review of the literature aimed at
analysing research on decision-making in construction logistics, from an integrated theoretical perspective. The
analysis is based on three fundamental dimensions: stakeholder integration, the use of data in decision-support
systems, and lean–green optimisation approaches. Based on 60 articles selected from 321 publications identified
between 2015 and 2025, the results highlight a persistent fragmentation of the research, with these dimensions
generally being addressed in isolation. This compartmentalisation limits the ability of existing models to
effectively support decision-making and to balance operational performance with sustainability. To address this,
this research proposes an integrated conceptual framework that links these three dimensions. It thus contributes
to a better understanding of the interdependencies between organisational, informational and operational factors
and to strengthening the theoretical conceptualisation of decision-making in construction logistics.
