VR simulation of operating procedure in construction based on BIM and safety ontology: a proof of concept
Conférence : Communications avec actes dans un congrès international
Virtual Reality has shown its relevance to assist in various construction activities. However, its use requires a lot of additional work to be integrated into BIM pro-cess. In literature, the usefulness of phasing BIM element for creating training session in AR or VR has been highlighted. Operating site procedures involve dif-ferent stakeholders such as QHSE experts and Design engineers. This paper in-troduces an architecture and presents a proof of concept that allows interoperabil-ity between a phased BIM operating procedure and a VR simulation associated with QHSE knowledge formalized using ontology. As a result, a VR training and safety simulation based on this architecture is presented and use cases are dis-cussed.
